The Chancellery of the European Court of Human Rights has published the new practical Guide on the admissibility conditions of actions in front of the Strasbourg Court (Admissibility_guide_ENG). This is the third edition diffused by the Court of Strasbourg for the purpose of easing the respect of admissibility conditions and of limiting the worrying phenomenon of too many actions declared not admissible for a lack of conditions established in the European Convention on Human Rights. In fact, 92% cases submitted to the Strasbourg Court in 2013 were declared not admissible; this phenomenon is having a negative effect on the works of the same Court and on the national application of the Convention. The practical Guide is a part of the measures set for improving the stake-holders’ awareness of admissibility conditions. For the same purpose an informative video and a checklist are made available (http://www.echr.coe.int/Pages/home.aspx?p=applicants&c=).
The practical Guide is currently available only in English and is updated to praxes up to January 1st 2014.
